Parveen Mahmud is the Founding Managing Director of Grameen Telecom Trust, and a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB). In her diversified professional career, Ms. Mahmud worked for a substantial amount of time with national and international development agencies and was a practicing chartered accountant. She was the first female council member and female President of the ICAB for the year 2011 and also the first female Board member in the South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA), the apex accounting professional body of the SAARC. She has keen interest in bringing positive changes through social innovations,  sustainable development and good governance. She serves in various prestigious Boards and Audit Committees, including, BRAC International, Actionaid Bangladesh, Under Privileged Children Educational Program (UCEP) –  Bangladesh. She is also in the board of Grameenphone Ltd., Grameen Danone Ltd., Linde Bangladesh Ltd.. She is the Chairperson  Shasha Denims Ltd. and was the Chairperson, Acid Survivors Foundation. Ms Mahmud is also the President, Business Professional Women, Chittagong Chapter affiliated to BFBPW, BPW International and the UN.
