Saleha Begum is currently working as the Managing Director of Grameen Shakti Samajik Byabosa Ltd,a pioneer organization and a sister concern of Grameen that is actively involved in Social Business for Nobin Udyoktas ( New Entrepreneurs) who are the second generation borrowers of the Grameen Bank. In addition, she is currently working as the Managing Director of Grameen Byabosa Bikash (GBB) and Acting Managing Director of Grameen Fund. She spear heads and manages all kinds of assistance to the clients of this renowned organization in the area of micro-credit and technical support to expand the businesses of the Grameen Bank and Grameen Fund’s main strategy that lies in venture capital finance; especially in technology based features. It equally lays stress on providing fixed capital and working capital loans to the micro enterprises run by those who are newly emerging out of poverty. She is currently serving as director for various Grameen ventures like; Grameen Communications,Grameen Capital management Ltd., GrameenKnitwear, GrameenSolutions, Grameen Agricultural Foundation,Grameen Fisheries and Livestock Foundation,Grameen Trust and Grameen Kalyan.Moreover,she is involved with many social activities. She is one of the earliest associates of Nobel Laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus since the inception of Grameen Bank in the village of Jobra.This successful history of this brave and successful lady has started since 1973, when she was a student of University of Chittagong. Before her stint at Grameen Bank, she worked for “Rural Economic Program” (REP) introduced by the Nobel Laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus in the village of jobra. In this micro-credit arena; she is vastly experienced and has been working for about 39 years. Earlier she held the position of Area Manager, Zonal Audit Officer and Zonal Manager of Grameen Bank.She is the only first pioneer women who took the challenges of this pioneer Bank and successfully accomplished this job in the history of Grameen Bank. As a Zonal Manager of Grameen Bank, she had to control all regional offices, monitor all branches financial works, evaluate of all staffs in the zone, make budgeting and planning of the zone, manage of all loan functions and supervise all branch offices in.
