Farid Uddin Ahmed

Farid Uddin Ahmed is the Executive Director of Arannayk Foundation – a not-for-profit organization dedicated towards forests and biodiversity conservation in Bangladesh. He has been working there since 2007. Prior to that he was the Member Director (Natural Resources Management) of Bangladesh Agricultural Research Council (BARC) – an apex body of National Agricultural Research System in Bangladesh. He started his professional carrier as a forestry scientist in 1977 and worked in different positions in Bangladesh Forest Research Institute and BARC including five years with an international development organization named Intercooperation – a Swiss Organization for Development and International Cooperation. He is specialized in community based forests and biodiversity conservation, value chain and livelihood development of forest dependent communities. He has strong educational background in natural resource management with his three master’s degrees in Botany, Forestry and Environmental Forestry from home and abroad.
