Professor H. I. Latifee currently works as the Adviser to the Honorable Chairman of the Trustee Board of Grameen Trust Nobel Laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus. He served the University of Chittagong as a Professor of Economics before he joined Grameen Trust on January 01, 1994.

Professor Latifee worked as the Managing Director of Grameen Trust (GT) for last 23 years (January 1994-December 2016) and provided leadership in the establishment and implementation of more than 151 Grameen replication programs in 41 countries, including 19 microcredit programs directly implemented by GT.

Professor Latifee is considered an expert and is well known for his contribution in the field of microfinance, poverty alleviation, financial inclusion, social business and value building growth due to his long experience with Grameen Bank, Grameen Trust, Grameen partners and Microfinance Institutions (MFIs) worldwide.

Professor Latifee is the winner of Business Week’s Stars of Asia Award, 2001. He has been a longtime associate of Nobel Laureate of Professor Muhammad Yunus, father of Microcredit, founder of Grameen Bank and the father of Social Business.

Professor Latifee serves as Member of a number of Boards of different microfinance organizations and social business entities in Bangladesh and other countries. He is also on the advisory board of several national and international organizations.
