Sumaiya Akter, born on 15 October 2005 in Mymensingh, Bangladesh, is an all-rounder cricketer who bats right-handed and bowls right-arm off-spin (ROS). She has proudly represented Bangladesh in women’s cricket, including serving as captain of the Bangladesh Women’s U19 team during the Women’s U19 World Cup and Asia Cup. Sumaiya began playing cricket in her hometown of Mymensingh, driven by a deep love for the game and a dream to represent her country for many years. Her favorite cricketer is Mst Farzana Haque Pinky, whose batting style she admires and relates to. Sumaiya’s best cricketing moment was the day she first represented Bangladesh, and her ambition is to become a top-ranked all-rounder in world cricket. She is particularly attracted to the ODI format and fondly recalls attending the final match of the 2018 Women’s Asia Cup as a fan. Outside of cricket, she enjoys hanging out with friends.
