Syed Shafat Uddin Ahmed Tomal is an environment and sustainable tourism expert known for championing eco-tourism, forest conservation, and sustainable travel. With a background in marketing, he has emerged as a key voice in responsible tourism on national and international platforms.

He is the only private stakeholder appointed by the Ministry of Environment to make a guideline for developing tourism by conserving the environment and ecosystem in tourist areas. Twice elected to the Board of Directors of the Tour Operators Association of Bangladesh (TOAB)—once as its youngest ever—Tomal actively promotes the Sundarbans as a premier eco-tourism destination.

Tomal has represented Bangladesh at global platforms like ITB India and Vietnam’s Eco & Sustainable Tourism Conference and participated in workshops by PATA and the Bangladesh Tourism Board. He has also served as an Adjunct faculty at American International University of Bangladesh teaching young leaders about sustainable tourism and hospitality.

His achievements have earned him honors such as the Sher-E-Bangla Golden Award and recognition by the Asia Tourism & Hospitality Awards in Malaysia, underscoring his leadership in sustainable tourism.
