Dr. Syed Mortuza Asif Ehsan

Dr. S. M. Asif Ehsan is an Associate Professor in the Department of Economics at North South University. He is currently serving as the Chairman of the department. Dr. Ehsan obtained his Ph.D. in Economics from Virginia Tech, USA. His primary research interests include development economics and environmental economics. As an empirical researcher, Dr. Ehsan has contributed to several economic and interdisciplinary research projects supported by organizations such as the IDRC, Canada, the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), UNDP, and the Bangladesh Planning Commission. His research addresses a wide range of social, climate change, and environmental issues. Dr. Ehsan has published in prominent academic journals. He also contributes economic articles to national and international periodicals.

Prior to obtaining his Ph.D. and M.A. in Economics from Virginia Tech, USA, he completed his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Economics from the University of Dhaka, graduating with first-class honors in both.
